BUYER BEWARE. Review the rental agreement VERY CAREFULLY.

I was just charged an entire month's rent for my storage unit for 2 DAYS of storage. Rent was due on the 1st of the month, and my checking account was debited $114 on 2/1/2013. On 2/2/2013 I cleared my unit out and informed the manager that I would no longer need the storage unit, and I asked for a refund for the 28 days of storage I had paid for in advance.

I was told that it was 'against company policy' and that NO REFUND would be issued. YOU SUCK, CubeSmart.

Monetary Loss: $106.

Location: Cape Coral, Florida

Cube Smart will sell your unit without notification. I am in the process of opening up a case right now. If you've had a problem like this let me know because it will more than likely turn into a class suit.

This is a lie. CubeSmart does not sell your items without notification.

In fact you have to be at least 32 days past due before the auction process begins then another 30 before the auction. Calls are made before and after the auction process has been started.

Why does Cubesmart suck? It's in the contract that renters pay for a month's rent and since you decided not to get your belongings out by end oc month, you literally and figuratively paid the price. This site is for customers who were treated unfairly according to the contract but they charged you according to it.

Humdrum, Cubesmart is NOT the company I signed the original contract with, it was with a local company that had no such policy. When they took over they never sent me a revised contract informing me of this policy change. Try reading the entire thread before posting your uninformed comments.

It is ludicrous to insist that unearned monies and unwarranted charges be paid. It is, further, immoral.

In general, the supply and demand of rentals and homes in the real estate market has place storage facilities in a grand position. The ethics and management mentality of the Cubesmart constituency is some of the worst I have ever seen. Policies are about more money and bonuses for district management and up. They do not care about helping customers.

They care about profit. It is a shady organization and this one example is illustrative of the unfair treatment customers will definitely receive on any matter.

You are not alone! They are ripping off other people too. This is getting some attention in California, check out www.wrongfulauction.com

The link www.wrongfulauction.com is a news cast talking about a company named PODS, not Cubesmart. I watched the whole thing scared because I'm storing with Cubesmart and thought that I might want to move my stuff.

It wasn't about the company I store with at all. I don't use PODS......

Myself and my husband rented a unit from the mgr in atlanta . Manager needs some training there on how to conduct herself in a professional manner .

She talked to my husband directly using his name ( first name only) over and over . She spoke to me indirect calling me mrs and my last name only . It was very rude the way she would say my name ! Jack you can sign right here !

Jack come read this and agree here ! Mrs hump please add your name here !

Have a nice day jack !

read your contract! Every storage facility asks for some kind of move out notice.

If you told them beforehand, they could have stopped the auto pay. Once you've paid for the month, it's yours...there are no refunds

If CubeSmart had been the company I had signed the original rental agreement with, I would agree with you. But they took over the storage facility about a year ago and they never sent me anything in writing indicating that there would be no refunds issued.

Furthermore, I spoke to the office manager back in October and informed her of my intent to clear out the storage unit in the near future and she never said a word about it.

So I stick to my original statement - CubeSmart SUCKS. If they truly cared about customer service, they would do right by their customers instead of ripping them off, period.

They must tell you this it is the law. If they did not bring your lease to show it to the manager/or district supervisor.BUt,yes the rental agreement is month to month with no refund for the unused portion of the current month.

storage companies sell properties all the times. when they do, the new company HAS to send out notifications.

I got a new lease in the mail with a welcome letter when the place I store my stuff was sold. It gave me a copy to sign and said that this agreement would be in effect even if I didn't sign the new lease. It's just 'the nature of the beast' when a company sells. I mean, c'mon.....my bank just got bought out too.

the old bank notified me, the new bank sent me letters. Yes, there are new policies and new fee amounts with the new bank. Same goes for storage.

You have to give them some credit here. They have to follow storage laws in each state.

Whatever, Annie. They did send me a notification that they were taking over the facility but nothing in writing with regard to any new lease terms, and certainly nothing that requested my signature.

It's done. I haven't had a unit there in a year and a half. I'm over it - learned my lesson. End of story.

I still think they were *** about it, and I stand by that statement. At the very least, they could have informed me of the policy when I spoke to them on the phone to make sure I understood the terms, but they neglected to do so. I work for a software company providing world class technical support to our customers.

I don't give TWO *** about their policies. What I DO care about is good customer service - and CubeSmart doesn't have it.
