Unlocked unit and stolen money

I rent a unit in a cube self storage 2829 W 21st St Brooklyn many many years and it never happened before that my unit was unlocked and some amount of money was stolen...I know you are not responsible what we have inside but you must be responsible for the staff you hire!!! I know I can't prove anything but it was made by your staff they knew where my money was exactly...following me from the cameras...so my stuff is not saved anymore why do we pay much money for being rubbed?

User's recommendation: Don't rent units at Cube Smart Self Storage...use another storages like Public storage or Metro storage the prices are lower and more secure.

I am trying to get a representative to check my new credit card number. The local facility will not take it over the phone. This is perplexing. Im able to update my credit card with other locations since my card has been compromised. Why does it require you going there in person? This is difficult for seniors. I need help now.

Price increases are outrageous and frequent

There has been a 60% increase in the cost of my storage unit in less than a year. That is an outrageous price increase, in a very short amount of time. I am terrified of how much the cost will be going forward.

To Whom it may concern: No, my issue with CubeSmart has not been resolved. In fact, the district manager that I asked to call me has not even responded. This latest price increase is outrageous! I was forced to take early retirement due to COVID-19 and I simply cannot afford another increase. The notice they gave was less than thirty days, which is not enough time to move my property to another company. This is definitely poor business!

A district Manager call me and ask bluntly what do I want and I said I should be reimbursed for what I paid to mover’s for the day they didn’t open and it was a weekday.And his response was no do whatever you want, they are truly a horrible business

On 2021 I was looking for affordable storage unit I found this place on 401 s waterman ave, San Bernardino they had a deal first month and second month free I got a storage unit it had easy access with keypad on building then to storage unit great, then 2 months later I go to my storage they had removed keypad and put deadbolt on doors and then you are force to go into the main office to have them open facility it became inconvenient and a nightmare since the employee in the office opens when she wants to sometimes she is not even there, they started to raise the monthly rent for no reason, I have rental insurance it didnt matter they force you to pay for there insurance fee with no proof of any insurance after almost 2 years, they keep raising there prices for a storage in a bad area the roads full of holes, I said no more in the last 2 months I have been trying to remove my property the first time it was on a Tuesday I got there at 9:30am I waited for her to open the office she never show up I finally told the movers to go home and on August 10,2023 I was there again at 9:30am the place never open up apparently she was on vacation but the contract stipulated that there office is open every day from 9:30am till 5pm I waited 2 hours I had to tell the movers to go home again this time I had the financial burden to pay $200.00 to the movers cube smart costumer service I complain and told them I should be reimbursed for my loss and they did not respond, I finally went back a week later and finally removed my property I would never recommend this facility to anyone beware they open there office when they want to and raise your rent astronomically ones you are there for no reason.

Problem at Homestead, Fl location

I relocated from Maine in Nov 2022 and while looking for a house as a 100% service connected disabled veteran, I started renting unit 4009 at Homestead, Florida CubeSmart storage facility.

For a year, every time I go to the unit , I notice dirt/sand/dust all over my household items. I have been meaning to go to the office from the start to ask the reason for the dirt, but finally I made time to go after the office which raised the unit fee from $228 to $288 as of November.

One of the 2 women told me that their supervisor would be back on Oct 27th. and they said as an excuse for the dirt making into the unit, the location was old.

They would ask their supervisor the reason of excessive dirt and steep fee increase at that time and then she would contact me. As of Nov 4th., no one has contacted me.

Horrible Experience

They will literally put an Overlock on your unit for no reason, and then charge you extra because you did not move out when you couldnt even access the unit because of an overlock and no staff being present

Terrible service

Terrible service from management and infestation of mice rats and bugs and I want compansation or something it's not right I've been a good customer never complains do everything the right way and the manager who is hardly there in the Haverhill and I'm going to have to call the board of health because of the infestation and all the belongings that we have to throw out it's got to stop.

The price to high,. Promise me a rental truck, schedule it for 9am that day, I rent it at 445 pm. Use it 15 days and charge me for the entire month

I am still waiting for the little insurance check and I still have not received a phone call from CubeSmart. I have tried calling the district manager several times as well as texting him but to no avail. I went from having over 30 pair of brand new shoes and 8 storage...

To Someone who had access to the storage unit facility drilled my lock out during business hours and ransacked my unit stealing around 35,000 dollars worth of items and was. Somehow able to replace my damaged lock with a cubesmart lock.

I had asked the new manager 3 times over a 2 week period and even contacted corporate to have the lock removed and I couldn't get into my unit until after the cops responded and the manager had known for almost 3 weeks that my unit was broken into and no one contacted me even though I had been there 3 different times to try to get into my unit stoll he did not tell me anything. When I informed him that the cops were coming to the facility he had the pictures of the vehicle and tag number of the vehicle that stole my stuff. However he claims they never came into the building but I had not been there since 4/18 and I still have my keys that go to the damaged lock that was drilled out in order to access my unit. I'm so mad and I feel that the new manager was involved and I think I saw him staking my shoes into another unit after the cops left.

I want someone from corporate to call me because I couldn't even get the district manager to call me back and I feel as though filing a lawsuit is the only way to get the surveillance footage from inside the facility and get all of my stuff that was stolen replaced. I want corporate to contact me and they still have not.

My code is not working

Tried several times to reach an after hours or emergency representative. The live chat with AI was of no help. There were 4 different toll free numbers to call and not one had the option to speak with anyone after hours. There was no after hours number visbly listed anywhere around the gate. I needed to get into the storage unit before closing and because I couldn't, I lost a $400 sale that I desperately needed for my family.

If I had more time to find a storage space believe me I would have. There business practices are sneaky and underhanded. I absolutely would not have gone thru with the rental if had known all the facts. To anyone who is thinking about using cubesmart think again.I would not recommend it to anyone.

Evicted by an anonomous complaint that grew to 5 people saying I was living in storage unit. All the cameras and security gates codes to enter and exit prove ny innocense. No access to get my stuff .

Multiple complaints: False Eviction, Denied Access to Property (Gate Code) unit (Overlock) complaints are met with outrage, threats and kicked out. Told that they dont't give a *** about seniors, heat stroke, even witnessing near fainting of a senior verbal abuse cussing then kicked out of complain.

Vengefully and purposely blocked from retrieving property before auction. Viewed and commented about expensive items and even inquired if leaving the goods then cussed out and kicked out when I complained that I am only allowed hottest time in to get my property. Told to drop the hitch onto my rv and pull it out now which would render the rv as salvage junk unusable due to improper preparation as required for towing by manufacturer b because its half hour for manager to leave. Witnessed the cussing abuse to others and thought they were at fault or did really bad but it is standard practice.

He does not like sitting and waiting for people to pack. I had a steel 20 foot by 8 (1 car garage) given 25 minutes to get everything I needed. Then told I could only access and retrieve my full garage in one trip, 1 load in less than a days access period because a customer said I was living in the storage even with no evidence on cameras and every time I came in the exit gate shows my code leaving always before closing time. I was accused the first day I came back from a trip out of town!

Just kicked out and denied access to get MY property before they jeep it for auction. Their lock blocking my goods with all bills up to date and still in effect!

User's recommendation: If you read this, you were warned. Sorry about your luck. Prior injury on site with permanent damage and to my leg from tryng to. Take out my generator after over a month being broken and not being able to take everything down 2 steep flights of stairs not lit up to be locked in because I was late getting out the gate bot able to get to my car even to drive up tp it. Their compensation after many complaints was a discount on that months rent.
